Lara Croft Is Back in Her Classic Glory

As fans, we’ve been through so many phases of Tomb Raider, from Lara’s Survivor era in the reboot trilogy, to her unexpected appearances in collabs like Call of Duty, Dead by Daylight, Fortnite, and more. Each time, we got to see different shades of Lara, but one thing was clear: the demand for her classic look and spirit never faded.

And now, with Tomb Raider: Sacred Artifacts from Dark Horse Comics, it feels like that wish has finally been answered. The cover itself says it all: Lara Croft, dual pistols at her side, braid flowing, in her iconic turquoise top and shorts. It’s more than just an outfit , it’s a symbol that the classic Lara is once again the present Lara. The reboot has had its time; the era fans have been asking for has returned.

What makes this even more exciting is the timeline. These events take place after Tomb Raider: Underworld, the last time we saw Lara as her most mature, seasoned self. Now, the comics pick up from there, giving us a continuation that many fans thought we’d never get. She’s not starting over, she’s moving forward, reflecting, rebuilding, and still chasing mysteries no one else dares to.

Looking at the preview pages, you can almost feel the atmosphere: Lara climbing, torch in hand, facing ruins with that mix of curiosity and determination that made us fall in love with her adventures in the first place. It feels familiar, but fresh, a promise that this isn’t just nostalgia, it’s evolution.

So the question now is: if Sacred Artifacts truly marks the continuation of classic Lara’s journey… what does that mean for the future of the series as a whole?

Are we finally at the start of a new era where the Lara we grew up with takes her rightful place again?

👉 What do you think, fellow raiders? Does this feel like the real comeback we’ve been waiting for?
