The Final Chapter: Season 2 of ‘Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’ Coming Dec 11, 2025

Netflix Confirms Final Season for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft

Fans of Lara Croft have reason both for excitement and melancholy: Netflix has officially announced that Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will conclude with its second season. The final season is set to premiere December 11, 2025.

What We Know About Season 2

The show stars Hayley Atwell voicing Lara Croft, and returns voice actors include Karen Fukuhara as Sam.

The plot centers on Lara’s globe-spanning mission after discovering that a collection of stolen African Orisha masks has been taken. She teams with Sam to retrieve them and encounters a dangerous and mysterious billionaire antagonist. The relics themselves harbor ancient secrets and possibly divine powers.

Season 1 premiered in October 2024. The series takes place in the continuity of the modern Tomb Raider video game trilogy (after Shadow of the Tomb Raider).

Why is This the Final Season?

Netflix and the producers have framed Season 2 as a planned conclusion rather than an abrupt cancellation. The announcement makes it clear it’s the last season, suggesting that narrative arcs will be tied up rather than left hanging.

What This Means for the Franchise

Fans will get closure for the animated storyline, but this also frees up creative bandwidth for the upcoming live-action adaptation.

The series helped fill in the gap between the Shadow of the Tomb Raider game and the legacy of Lara Croft, reinforcing the character’s arc in the modern game canon.
